Keyframe a Color Change in DaVinci Resolve 20 [v]

[ This is an excerpt from a recent webinar: “Video Scopes & Color Grading in DaVinci Resolve 20” which is available as a download in our store, or as part of our Video Training Library. ]

EXCERPT DESCRIPTION

Far too often, you need to change color settings in the middle of a clip so that the colors change during playback. While you can simply dissolve between two clips, using keyframes gives you more control – allowing you to change settings multiple times during a clip.

In this short video tutorial, Larry Jordan shows how to create color keyframes and change settings to convert a clip from daylight to indoor lighting.

NOTE: This technique works for all recent versions of DaVinci Resolve.

First. If you don’t know it, the [ and ] keys allow you to jump between keyframes on the color page.

Second, by using multiple nodes, you can have separate control of adjusting the highlights shift vs the skin tone color shifts
