Compressor 3: Add Chapter Markers [Video]

Chapter markers are navigational elements which can be embedded in a video and displayed on a DVD or the web which allow quick navigation to different sections of a movie. These are extremely helpful critters.

However, one of the limitations of Final Cut Pro X is that it does not support creating chapter markers. Instead, we need to export our project from Final Cut, then add chapter markers in another program.

A really good tool for this is Compressor (either version 3 or 4).

In this video tutorial, which is an excerpt from a recent webinar, I show you how to add chapter markers to a video and how to create a short test movie to make sure your compression settings are creating acceptable results.

NOTE: This is an excerpt from Webinar #78 on Video Compression for the Web. You can buy the complete webinar and download it now from our store or get all my training via my new subscription membership.
