When you are in trim edit and turn looping on (Control L) and press the backslash key, the playhead plays back around the edit point continuously. I have been trying to shorten the loop time when I set trim looping on in FCP 6. I can’t find where I can shorten the duration.

Larry replies: Piece of cake.

Try this and let me know if it works:

* Select Final Cut Pro > User Preferences > Editing tab

* Change the Pre-roll setting to the amount of time you want the playhead to back up BEFORE the edit point.

* Change the Post-roll setting to the amount of time you want the playhead to play AFTER the edit point.

If this does what you want, let me know.
