Peter Tours sent this in.

He described that what he was trying to do was figure out how to display video on the monitor using an AJA card. Peter couldn’t figure out how to adjust an AJA preset.

So he contacted AJA, who wrote:

You can simply use the existing Apple-provided Easy Setup to create a basis for your own custom 720p Easy Setup. You can do this by first opening the Apple-provided Easy Setup, then going into Final Cut Pro > Audio/Video Settings > A/V Devices and change the Playback Output > Video selection to the the AJA 720p 59.94 8-bit selection.

Set the Playback Output > Audio selection to the AJA device as well. Click on the Summary Tab of the Audio/Video Settings window and select the Create Easy Setup button at the bottom. Name and describe the new Easy Setup as you see fit, hit Create and Save when prompted.

While AJA provides a very large amount of Easy Setups, it is difficult for us to supply every possible combination users might want. But, it’s possible to create your own as needed.

Larry replies: It is often very easy to forget that all Final Cut Pro > Easy Setups can be customized and saved with a new name. And all customized setups are displayed as part of the Easy Setup menu.
